Following an escape of water insurance claim, our team was engaged to carry out remedial hardwall repairs to a residential property.
Preparation
Upon arrival, it was identified that the existing hardwall plaster had sustained significant moisture damage. To ensure the integrity of the structure, the affected plaster was carefully removed to expose the cement float coat, allowing for structural drying. This step is essential to prevent trapped moisture behind the paint, mould growth, and future deterioration of wall finishes.
Drying and Moisture Testing
The area underwent professional drying using industrial dehumidifiers and air movers until the masonry achieved an acceptable dry standard as verified through moisture readings. Only once the structure was confirmed dry was reinstatement work commenced.
Hardwall and White Set Application
A new smooth white set plaster finish was applied to a seamless finish This ensured the walls were restored to their pre-loss condition, providing a strong, clean, and even base ready for paint application.
Finishing and Clean-Up
All works were completed with HEPA vacuuming at each stage to minimise dust and maintain air quality throughout the property.
The result is a seamless and professional restoration ready for decorative finishes and complete room reinstatement.
